Nexus Update
First -- sorry for the sheer volume of posts today -- I've had stuff to post, just no time this week until today.
Well, Nexus is done with Sunday nights. THANK GOD! I've hated doing ministry on Sunday nights -- I really think it's one of the worst times to try to engage twentysomethings! Starting April 22nd, we'll be meeting on Saturday nights @ 6:00 -- during the "big church" saturday night service here at Northwoods.
I'll let the guard down for just a second -- I'm optmistic -- because I really think that Saturday affords us the greatest opportunity to really grow as a ministry. But there's a part of me that's just a little scared -- I mean what happens if it doesn't take off? I don't think there's ever been a time in my ministry that I've spent so much time in prayer and fasting. Somehow, fear of failure is a high motivation for me. (I guess I'm a pretty typical eldest-born.)

I also think Saturdays are great because then you have Discoveryland (obviously this is from a children's ministry worker perspective) - this allows all the people who have kids to come - and also opens up more doors (because from when I was there, not too many people with kids came). I am so excited to see where this change takes you guys!
