that day
Couldn't sleep -- I was up at 4:45am, so I made some coffee and settled into the Barcolounger in our home office to spend some time praying and reading:
"If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, becuase the Day will bring it to light." [1 corinthians 3:12-13]
It's so easy to get caught up in the grind -- prepping message, planning events, thinking through ministry strategy, recruiting volunteers, etc. -- and yet this is a reminder that there will be a day -- where I will stand before God, and all the meaningless stuff will get burned up.
This is such an elementary concept, and yet I find it hard to keep that day in front of me on a day-to-day basis
