Last night we had "technical issues" at The Gathering. We lost the S-Video - RCA adaptor that runs from my laptop to our video switcher and so I could either show the slide show and have no access to my notes or have my notes but no slide show. So we hurriedly printed my notes, which was a royal pain in the butt. Here's the thing: as a speaker -- anything that throws you out of your rhythm is hard to recover from. I never felt last night that I was "in my groove" because I was rapidly flipping pages to find my notes and flip my slides, etc. FRUSTRATING!!!
Irony (maybe not irony, but something) : I found the cable this morning -- lying underneath the extra chair in my office. GRRRR.

Out of Rhythm

oh yeah... right where i left it! i remember now!
not really.
but i don't think it affected you outwardly as much in your talk as you think it did. it was still moving and educational.
but i'm glad you found it b/c kevin won't be there next week... so don't lose it again!
