Panera vs. Starbucks

I know that I may receive hostile comments for the following post, but it's just the way I see it! I know that as a 31-year-old who often acts and thinks like he's 25, I'm supposed to be hip and cool, carry and I-pod instead of a dell dj, buy a powerbook instead of a dell, hate all reality television and think that Starbucks is God's gift to the planet. I do like Starbucks...I really do. Their coffee is great. But more often than not, when I want to spend some time getting stuff done, I tend to prefer Panera. The coffee isn't as good (and they have very few coffee drinks), but if you want something to chew with your coffee (e.g. a bagel) you can't beat Panera (unless we had an Einstein's in the area, but don't get me started on THAT!). The biggest kicker for me? Free Wi-Fi at Panera. How can you argue with that? So until Starbucks offers free Wi-Fi, you'll find me sitting here at Panera, with my headphones on cranking out my next talk!

So I'm 24, how exactly am I supposed to act when I become 25? Do I have to get an iPod or something to be all hip and cool?

good post - and i am with you. i really don't like panera's coffee but the space seems to be much much conducive (at least for me) for writing, thinking, and hanging out with people. i am just about ready to give up my t-mobile hotspot account
