Pomo musing in central Illinois

I had coffee with Tim yesterday which is always stimulating and fun. There's something so energizing about mingling with kindred souls! Anyway, I threw an idea at him that he suggested I pursue, so here it is. I'd like to have a monthly or quarterly gathering of postmodern/emergent/young church leaders, where we could get together -- have a book to discuss and talk about how to take ideas from those books and implement them into our lives and ministries. Nothing too structured, or too formal, or cumbersome. I know that there's a local youth pastors' gathering through YFC, but this would be broader and less structured. If you're in the area and you're engaged in ministry and you identify with Donald Miller, or Brian McLaren or Andy Stanley or Rob Bell or Relevant Magazine or books like Flashbang or you look at the churchmarketingsucks site or read The Ooze -- let's talk. Give me a call at my office, or email me, or whatever and let's see if there's any interest. If you are one of these people and you know someone else that might be interested, forward this post to them!

Way to take the lead bro. I am convinced that we are only as strong in our individual churches as the bond we have to our peers doing ministry in the same town. I am part of the Southwest Connection here in Littleton and our bond is strong. My philosophy is this: We are all going to live together forever. So lets stop the competition and start enjoying each other's presence and partner together to reach our communities with the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Love you man!
